The 25th Glasgow Jazz Festival takes place between over this weekend, having started on Wednesday 29th June and running until Sunday 3rd June.
Featuring a plethora of international artists, and a wide range of events for all ages, the highlight for me comes in the form of tomorrow's gig from Aiden Moffat and Bill Wells. Performing at Platform @ The Bridge the duo bring their critically acclaimed album 'Everything's Getting Older' for an airing in Easterhouse. I've absolutely loved this album since it's release in May, and to hear the gritty realism of tracks like 'Glasgow's Jubilee' and 'The Copper Top' in a, let's be honest. gritty part of town is something I'm relishing.
I also headed to Brel last night for my good friend Guillaume Rousere, better known as fledging electronica DJ Monsieur G, who had a short DJ set. Bringing a mix of French electronica, chill out and house, it was a relaxing atmosphere, very much in the ethos of the festival itself.
